frequently asked questions
Are your lists personalised?
The Write Response (TWR) library lists include approximately 60% of personal names, phone and fax numbers. The child care centres list does not include personal names but does include most phone numbers and some fax numbers. Personalisation in the Australian schools list is the Term 1 and 3 principal’s name in most cases. Approximately 90% of schools records are personalised. As all libraries, schools and institutions are different not all records will have data in all fields or have a matching field layout.
Do you sell email addresses?
All email addresses researched by TWR are non-personalised. Australian school email addresses are available in most records and are supplied under the Spam Act 2004 provision allowing “implied consent by conspicuous publication”. You must seek your own legal advice about email broadcast before use. Email addresses and fax numbers may be removed from lists at short notice due to local and international regulatory requirements. The Australian Schools lists include fax numbers in most records and is subject to opt outs. Not all lists nor all records within individual lists include an email address.
Do I have to sign a licence agreement?
Yes. A non-exclusive licence agreement covers the use of any The Write Response lists. Our product contains data only and includes no operating software or system specific instructions.
Are there any additional fees?
No. All prices noted on this website include the Australian Goods & Services Tax (GST). Lists are for purchase and multiple use and are not a per-thousand rate. There is no set-up fee. Prices also include delivery by post or email attachment – an additional fee is payable for postal delivery. A tax invoice will be issued for all Australian sales.
Is deliverability guaranteed?
Deliverability guarantees, where applicable, do not apply to phone/fax numbers and email addresses.
Can you provide mailing labels?
Self-adhesive labels are available for rental only. Surcharges covering production and postage apply. Please call for a quote.
What if I want to update a previously purchased list?
A 50% discount applies only if the update purchase is made within 13 months of the original purchase for direct end user clients only. This update offer does not apply to agencies, brokers and other resellers. What about customers outside Australia?
Whether you’re selling to your home market or to other English-speaking markets, The Write Response can help. We sell direct to customers in the UK, US, New Zealand and Asia. Our research for lists covering areas other than Australia is usually carried out in the target country or by specialists in that field. UK clients in particular will find that our UK schools data is extremely competitive with prices charged for multi-use data from UK suppliers.
The list prices are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of email delivery, with a small additional charge for label sets and CD-ROM delivery. All credit card purchases are charged in Australian dollars and are converted at the “rate of the day” by your credit card company. Direct bank deposits and cheques are also accepted. For a guide to how much our lists cost in your currency please use the Westpac Bank currency converter.
Are your lists barcode compliant?
Australia Post’s barcode discount postal system is based on matching mailing list addresses with addresses in the Postal Address File (PAF), the central database of all Australian addresses. Schools and educational institutions present a unique problem as many official addresses lack street numbering or alternative, barcode-able addressing. The Write Response has worked hard to bring you Australia’s highest barcode match rate for schools at more than 90%.We’ve examined every school record individually and matched it with its proper address in Australia Post’s latest version of the PAF. And we’ve not only run the records through the usual matching process, we’ve picked out every property name in the PAF and ensured it is matched with the correct address – eliminating addressing errors even made by the school, the Education Department and Australia Post. This very high barcode match rate means that in many cases the cost of your list will be covered by the additional postal discount you’ll achieve by using the list.
